Earn CME Credits By Watching Dr. Badia’s Videos
Earn your CME Credits In 3 Steps:
1. Watch video on this page
This video illustrates the treatment for bilateral wrist injuries in a patient who sustained gun shot wounds. Her left median nerve was repaired after it was lacerated by the bullet, and CTM Thick was applied around the repaired nerve to minimize adhesions. Her right distal radius had fractured as well, and was plated at the same time. The IntelliSense drill was used, which prevents the drill bit from plunging, and automatically measures the screw lengths needed. CTM Flow was injected, to minimize swelling and augment healing.
In this video, Dr. Badia, first-assisted by Kate Samuels, PA-C, performs an open reduction internal fixation of a displaced distal radius fracture, using the McGinley lever action plate and the IntelliSense drill. The specialized drill automatically measures the length of each screw needed and prevents the drill from moving deeper than it should. The McGinley lever action plate has a lever that allows for fine tuning of the volar tilt.
